V2V, the passenger touring ferry between Victoria’s Inner Harbour and Vancovuer’s Coal Harbour, launched last May. Due to mechanical problems, V2V’s Empress catamaran had to be taken out of service in mid-August. It is scheduled to resume operations in December.
Hume Campbell, CEO of Riverside Marine who lauched V2V, is not deterred by this setback. Campbell remains resilient and believes the service will be viable.
Riverside Marine is also planning to build a new vessel to operate alongside the Empress so that the company can run two return trips per day. Riverside hopes to build it in Canada and launch it during the summer of 2019.
